Rule of thumb: The white veins are the most energetic, red veins are the most sedative and Green veins a little of both. Here is a little write up about the strains.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
White, Green, Red? What you need to know on the strains. -
Kratom aromatherapy sessions are a very fragile thing to begin with. If you are new to the scene and are just learning the ins and outs there is ALOT of information out there and most of it can be confusing to a kratom newbie. For one, you have all these options in front of you and its really hard to choose a strain if you have no idea what to expect or what each strain helps you with. The color indicated is actually given to the vein of the leaf before it is made into a fine powder.
So… for starters…
White vein Strains: These are generally your energetic strains. People who have problems with exhaustion or if they’re on a medication that makes them extra drowsy, white vein will probably be beneficial to them. Some say that these particular strains are the edgy ones and anyone who suffers from the jitters or is sensitive to caffeine should stay away from these or choose a blend that utilizes this type of leaf but is not the only one present in the blend.
Green vein Strains: These are the middle of the road. Neither too energetic, nor sedating. Many use green strains to extend the life of an aromatherapy session. Many blends utilize green vein kratom simply because of the synergy involved. They are very good for mixing and seem to have a longer effect. (especially Green Malay, which is known for it’s very long lasting aroma.)
Red vein Strains: These are your sedating strains. It should be noted that anyone who is a chronic pain sufferer or insomnia sufferer, may find red strain aromatherapy sessions beneficial. While although it has been said that lower gram sessions are more stimulating, it varies from person to person and most connoisseurs describes the red strains as relaxing and sedating.
Different strains of Kratom work great for different things like WDs, pain, social anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc. In many ways, kratom is like a painkiller when it is burned. We strongly suggest at least trying it, there are so many kinds, but its up to you to find out what works best for you.
