Kratom potentiators?

So this is a question I get quite often. Is there anything I can do do potentate a kratom aroma? Alot of Kratom aficionados claim there is. But is it the result of placebo? — in short, possibly. There is no real scientific evidence to suggest that some of the claims of potenating kratom are true, all we have to go on is the user’s experience. However, since there are clinical studies of other alkoloids / chemicals being effected we can assume some of these claims are true. I am going to list some of the most popular “Kratom Potentiators” that may help you get that aroma burning better!

The most commonly talked about potentiators associated with kratom are

Grapefruit Juice. – It is said to work by slowing down the livers ability to process the alkaloids in the kratom, thus leaving them in the system longer and will make the effects seem stronger too. — Although this is all speculation, it will only work for some and may not work at all for others.

Magnesium, which is sold as a supplement, is a popular potentiator and it can also serve to reduce tolerance when used in the long term, making it possible to use less and less kratom with time. Notably, magnesium does relieve constipation too, but it can actually worsen diarrhea. So this potentiator can actually have negative effects on individuals who are in the process of self-weaning from opiates.

Phenibut is a substance that’s sold as a prescription drug and supplement. It’s used to treat an array of ailments, such as PTSD, anxiety and insomnia, though it’s not an approved pharmaceutical in the U.S. or Europe. It should be noted that Phenibut, on it’s own can be very addicting if used in excess. Phenibut is said to potentiate kratom’s relaxation effects in particular, though according to a number of online forum posts, users reported experiencing nausea and “drunk effects” in some instance

Chamomile Tea serves to enhance the relaxation effects that are associated with kratom. This is actually a very popular potentiator, as kratom can be ingested as a tea, so many mix 1 part chamomile tea and one part kratom tea.Conversely, others open a kratom tablet and sprinkle it into a cup of chamomile tea. (Personally, this Potentiator works best for me, but everyone is different.)

There are a number of different kratom potentiators, but each individual is unique and experiences can vary. Trying different options is one way to find the potentiator that has the most desirable effects on your unique body. — Example — While Grapefruit juice seems to potentiate kratom best for some people, however it does almost nothing for me. The same can be said about those users and Chamomile tea, as it is one of the only things that potentiates kratom for me, personally.

Rule of thumb: The white veins are the most energetic, red veins are the most sedative and Green veins a little of both. Here is a little write up about the strains.

White, Green, Red? What you need to know on the strains. -

Kratom aromatherapy sessions are a very fragile thing to begin with. If you are new to the scene and are just learning the ins and outs there is ALOT of information out there and most of it can be confusing to a kratom newbie. For one, you have all these options in front of you and its really hard to choose a strain if you have no idea what to expect or what each strain helps you with. The color indicated is actually given to the vein of the leaf before it is made into a fine powder.

So… for starters…

White vein Strains: These are generally your energetic strains. People who have problems with exhaustion or if they’re on a medication that makes them extra drowsy, white vein will probably be beneficial to them. Some say that these particular strains are the edgy ones and anyone who suffers from the jitters or is sensitive to caffeine should stay away from these or choose a blend that utilizes this type of leaf but is not the only one present in the blend.

Green vein Strains: These are the middle of the road. Neither too energetic, nor sedating. Many use green strains to extend the life of an aromatherapy session. Many blends utilize green vein kratom simply because of the synergy involved. They are very good for mixing and seem to have a longer effect. (especially Green Malay, which is known for it’s very long lasting aroma.)

Red vein Strains: These are your sedating strains. It should be noted that anyone who is a chronic pain sufferer or insomnia sufferer, may find red strain aromatherapy sessions beneficial. While although it has been said that lower gram sessions are more stimulating, it varies from person to person and most connoisseurs describes the red strains as relaxing and sedating.

Different strains of Kratom work great for different things like WDs, pain, social anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc. In many ways, kratom is like a painkiller when it is burned. We strongly suggest at least trying it, there are so many kinds, but its up to you to find out what works best for you.

Growing Kratom

 Growing Kratom:

A guide on growing Kratom

Kratom prefers warm tropical swamp like conditions. This makes growing Kratom outdoors out of the question in most regions of the world. Green houses also are notorious for their failure in sustaining Kratom trees. Kratom trees seem to have a high rate of failure for a number of reasons, but for many, their interest alone is the reason for attempting to grow Kratom. Kratom prefers humus rich, fertile, wet soils in a protected position, and is drought and frost tender. Seedlings need to be very well protected from sun and wind, but the maturing plant is quite hardy. — In the next section we are going to discuss various factors to growing this incredible plant, those including – Seeds, Soil, Weather, and Feeding.

Only VERY VERY fresh seeds will work. This is very important, as even though there are plenty of reliable and reputable vendors out there who do sell Kratom seeds, I have yet been able to find a constant reliable source when it comes to germination. Your best bet is that, if you see them at any shops online, pick them up, and hope for the best results. Do not be alarmed if they don’t germinate correctly. Keep trying, or get a cutting or clone.

Pretty simple, You need humus rich, fertile, wet soil that drains well, but not so much that the soil will not remain damp virtually all the time.

The seeds, while in germination stage, do not need full sunlight. — In fact, it appears that direct sunlight is BAD for the seeds. O.K. so once (if) you are lucky enough to get some sprouts…the the real work is finished! – First, seedlings need to be protected from the cold.       Assume that anything under 60 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 degrees Celsius will kill your  plants within a couple of days, so if they’re outside, watch the weather closely. The great thing is, is that once you manage to get your plants past the seedling stage, Kratom is quite sturdy, quite hardy, and can take more abuse than you might imagine.

The Kratom tree is a very heavy feeder. — It will soak up more water and plant food then you might have imagined! Plant food that’s rich in nitrogen will be your best best, especially if you keep the soil quite wet.Once you’ve made it past the seedling stage you can breathe far more easily, knowing that you’ve made it past the most difficult part of getting a Kratom plant to grow in the first place!

When to harvest:

If you’re Kratom seeds are lucky enough to have grown into full size trees –  It is a well known fact that Kratom trees’ are most potent in the late autumn, just before the leaves fall off naturally on their own. Abundent amounts of leaves on a Kratom tree do NOT indicate potency. Many will try a “pre harvest” sometime in mid autumn. Making a tea — or resin ball  is a good way to test your crop’s potency so you can know what to expect. Of course, the final product will always be better. The last month of a Kratom trees’ harvesting cycle is important to insure the maximum potency possible.

Most Invigoratin Aroma

What is the most energizing Kratom?

Which Kratom gives off the most invigorating aroma? Well, first it is important to note that pretty much all strains can have stimulative AND sedative effects. Usually, Kratom is invigorating when burned in small amounts (4-6g’s) and becomes more sedating in larger amounts (6g+). However, certain strains carry a very energetic profile compared to others. Generally speaking, white & green vein kratom is more invigorating, even in larger amounts. So, what is the MOST invigorating Kratom? Many believe the king of the energy department when it comes to Kratom is the mighty MaengDa. (Check blog post under “MaengDa” to see more on this strain). Of course, certain strains of Kratom will have different effects for different people so it is important to try various strains in various amounts to find what is just right for you.

Different Kratom strains can provide varying effects. Kratom leaves can have white, green and red veins. White and green veined Kratom is considered to be more energetic than the red vein, which is considered to be more relaxing and has more anxiety relief benefits. However, the color of the Kratom vein rule does not always hold true as some red vein Kratom is the more energetic, such as Maeng Da. A good rule for guidance on the aroma of a certain strain is the name of the strain. MaengDa and Thai kratom are known more for the energizing effects, while strains like Bali and certain Indo’s tend to be more of a relaxation aroma.

By combining strain names with vein colors you can get a pretty good idea of what a certain type might be like. If a strain is called “Red vein Indo” you can make an assumption it will be more sedating, if it is called “Green vein Thai” (or something similar) it can be assumed that this strain is probably going to be more invigorating.

The above statements should be used only as a basic guideline information about Kratom.  Some strains that are VERY energetic for some may be the opposite for somebody else. — generally speaking, however, this should help you get an idea of what the “most energizing Kratom strain” really is.

What is Kava?

 Kava Kava - (Piper methysticum)

Kava-Kava, (Kava) is an herb that has been used for thousands of years to prepare a relaxing social beverage. Kava is mostly consumed throughout the pacific ocean cultures of Polynesia, including HawaiiVanuatuMelanesia and some parts of Micronesia.  Only the roots of the plant are used. The Kava roots are ground in water to extract the active ingredients. The water extract is then strained and drunk, often from a coconut shell. Kava has an agreeable & pungent flavor that numbs the mouth when drunk.

Medical literature sometimes claim Kava has “potential for abuse” since it has sedative and slightly euphoric properties. In a traditional setting, A potent kava drink produces effects that are noticeable with 20-30 minutes and can last up to 8 hours. Most reports of kava use note a feeling of mental clarity, patience and a general ease of acceptance. The effects of Kava are mostly compared to alcohol or diazepam.

Kava’s active principal ingredients are the kavalactones, of which at least 15 have been identified and are all considered psychoactive. Only six of them produce noticeable effects, and their concentrations in kava plants vary. Research currently suggests kavalactones potentate GABA activity, but do not alter levels of dopamine and serotonin.

Kava is used for medicinal, religious, political, cultural and social purposes throughout the Pacific. These cultures have a great respect for the plant and place a high importance on it. In Fiji, for example, a formal kava ceremony will often accompany important social, political, or religious, functions. Kava is used primarily, although, in american culture at social gatherings to increase amiability and to relax after work.

Part of the effects of Kava are Anesthetic, most users report a slight numbness on their tongue and lips. This is totally normal and short lasting. The numbness is due to two local, topical anesthetics that are active ingredients inside of the kava root. — furthermore, the effects of kava are generally relaxing & euphoric. Nausea has been reported when over-consumption happens, (is not common) often the anesthetic properties will produce a “numb” feeling in the stomach (as well as the tongue) — this can sometimes be perceived as nausea but will pass fairly quickly.

Red Vein Borneo Kratom

Red Vein Borneo Kratom

aka. Original Bali.

(Many are confused with this strain and what it truly is, in this article we are going to try to help the Kratom newbie understand the differences in “Red Vein Borneo Kratom” and the other types of Bali’s on the market.)

Red Vein Borneo Kratom is experienced by most as sedative, analgesic and relaxing. The aroma of this Red Vein Borneo arrives slowly and gradually, but can stick around for an astonishing length of time — many find this strain is the longest lasting. We believe that this kratom is best used to help reduce stress, anxiety, fall asleep, and to help those with chronic pain undertake light exercise.

Also known as Original Bali, Red Vein Borneo kratom is the favorite of a great many connoisseurs, and is very much a staple of the aficionado’s collection. There is some confusion when it comes to this strain, as it is also known as “Original Bali.”

An Important note to make about Bali Kratom is that it probably does not come from Bali! (read on) — The trees it comes from are mostly in Borneo. The confusion has arisen because during the early days of kratom export to the west, the traders were shipping the kratom out of Balinese ports, and the name ‘Bali’ was applied to this kratom. Therefore if you see kratom being marketed as Borneo, particularly Red Vein Borneo Kratom, in all probability it’s exactly the same product. Nevertheless the name ‘Bali kratom’ has stuck.

  The Leaping Leaf carries a variety of blends based on Bali or Red Vein Borneo kratom strains, in order to provide slightly different effects, and gives them different names which can be confusing at first. However, it’s fairly simple. As an example here are some of the different ways in which Bali kratom can be blended and named;

Maeng Da Kratom

Maeng Da Kratom

This is beyond doubt one of the strongest and most effective Kratom varieties available anywhere. It is active in amounts as low as 2 grams, which is absolutely stellar for any plain leaf Kratom variety. – MaengDa is a genetically altered version of Kratom who’s potency is remarkably stronger than your average Thai strain sold everywhere on the internet. This amazing variety of kratom is clearly distinct from other varieties of kratom, having serated edged leaves as apposed to flat.

Maeng Da is a variety of Kratom that originates from Thailand. “Maeng Da” directly translates to a word which means pimp in Thai.  Like the word suggests this kind of Kratom is very strong and powerful when it comes to the desired effects it is capable of inducing.  Although it is important to note that not all Maeng Da Kratom leaves really come from Thailand, since a lot of providers have successfully grown Maeng Da in some parts of South East Asia such as Indonesia and India.

The Maeng Da Kratom strain is considered to be one of the strongest natural Kratom varieties available   It has a very potent alkaloids (7-hydroxymitragynine and mitraphylline alkaloids) and effects that rival some of the better — more expensive — extracts that are on the market today.

Maeng Da Kratom is one of our best selling varieties and our customers can not stop raving about its potency. Do not be fooled by the low price, this is true Pimp Grade Maeng Da — other sites charge double or even triple for the same leaf (Or in alot of cases, a leaf marked as PG Maeng Da that SIMPLY IS NOT.) Can Kratom cause a false positive for opiates?

A question often heard is the following; “Can  kratom usage cause a false positive result for opiates on a drug test?”. Simply said, It will not.

Both the alkaloids and metabolites of kratom are chemically different from anything being tested for in a standard drug test  (like NIDA5) or even in an extended (10-panel) urine test.  It is not possible that mitragynine and the other kratom alkaloids could cause a false positive for morphine, methadone  or anything else that is screened in these tests.

Some medications and supplements however can result in a false positive on a drug test.  Ibuprofen and pseudo-ephedrine are known examples. Also black poppy seeds, found on bagels, as well as some other poppy seeds will show as an opiate as well, since they have a one to 2 day half life.

If you are being drug tested, make sure to inform the testing entity about all legal prescription drugs and OTC medicines you are taking to avoid such problems.  There is no need to tell them about your kratom use.

Strongest Kratom

Well, what is the strongest Kratom?

Great question, but this needs to be more carefully looked at. There are Plain Leaf Kratom, Enhanced Kratom, Kratom Extracts, Tinctures, etc. So first, which Kratom are we talking about?
